Research Supports the use of Acupressure Comfort Measures as a Safe and Effective Way to Reduce the Duration and Pain of Labor, Cesarean births, and Necessity and amount of Pitocin.

Outcomes for the 60 women who received Acupressure:
Had a shorter active phase of labor
Severity of pain was less
41.7 percent of the women needed pitocin
The amount of pictocin was less
Cesarean delivery rate was only 10 percent (This is Amazing!!!)
Outcomes for the 60 women who didn't received Acupressure:
Had longer active phase of labor
Severity of pain was more
63.3 percent needed pitocin
Cesarean delivery rate was 41.7 percent, which is way too high!!!

Nicholas Olow is a board certified and licensed Acupuncturist with over 17+ years clinical experience specializing in Pregnancy Care, Labor Support, Postpartum Care, Pain Management, and Nutritional Counseling.
He is actively involved in the birthing community across the United States and routinely holds Acupressure Workshops for Midwives, L&D RN's, Doulas, Childbirth Educators, and Birth Partners teaching them how to safely and effectively provide Acupressure Comfort Measures for their clients and loved ones for Pregnancy Care, Labor Support, and Postpartum Care.
He is an American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) Approved CEU Provider.
His passion is in research and routinely does evidence-based presentations at local hospitals and Birth Centers in San Diego on women’s healthcare and pain management.
He currently has a successful private practice in San Diego, California working with other health professionals providing an integrative approach for women’s
